FIRST SKY GROUP DONATES GH₵1 MILLON TO NATIONAL ROAD SAFETY COMMISSION
First Sky Group, an agglomeration of companies has donated GHȻ1million to the National Road Safety Commission to aid its efforts at intensifying road safety education aimed at reducing road crashes and resultant casualties in Ghana.
The Group which includes First Sky Commodities, First Sky Construction, Volta Serene Hotel, Serene Insurance Company and First Sky Bitumen Processing Limited made this donation on Sunday January 13th 2019 at the Accra International Conference Centre where it held its 16th Annual Thanksgiving Service under the theme ‘For thou oh Lord, Our shield and glory’.
Speaking at the event which was marked to commemorate the company’s achievement over the previous years, the Executive Chairman of the company, Eric Seddy Kutortse commended the government for its support to Ghanaian business and also for its efforts to fulfil the vision of moving Ghana beyond aid. He urged Ghanaians to uphold integrity and fidelity in all their dealings while they frown on negative acts and uphold Christian principles
Presenting the Commission with the dummy cheque, Mr. Kutortse expressed concern on the gory fatalities associated with road carnage and blamed them on capacity needs, resource constraints and growing indiscipline of road users.
‘The Recent waves of road accidents across the country have led to several untimely deaths. It’s high time we take the issue of road safety as a shared and collective responsibility. To help the Commission deliver its mandate, we are donating One Million Ghana Cedis which we hope will go into acquiring two pickup vehicles, one ambulance, speed guns, breathalyzers to help stakeholder agencies in their educational operational and enforcement activities.’ He said.
