Executive Chairman of First Sky Group Wins Humanitarian of the Year Award

Executive Chairman of First Sky Group, Eric Seddy Kutortse, has been adjudged the ‘Humanitarian of the Year’ at the 2023 edition of the Ghana Philanthropy Awards held on November 17, 2023, at the La Pal Beach Hotel.

The award celebrates his visionary leadership, which particularly encompasses his role in unprecedented, continued service to the advancement of humanity through interventions in Health and Education among others.

The event on the theme, “Social Responsibility as a Means of Ensuring Inclusiveness in Socio-economic Growth and Development,” provided the platform to recognise and appreciate the laudable efforts of individuals and organisations dedicated to philanthropy, corporate social responsibility, and impactful social investment initiatives across Ghana.

Mr. Kutortse’s resolute commitment to advancements in well-being of humanity and society through pioneering humanitarian interventions has shaped the narrative of social responsibility within the Ghanaian corporate landscape.

A citation for Mr. Kutortse acknowledged his charitable and humanitarian contributions towards the vulnerable in society, which philanthropic commitment extends to supporting the less privileged and various social and religious causes.

‘First Sky Group has notably provided scholarships to many students of different educational levels, constructed an ICT Centre for the Awate Schools in the Volta Region. Your adoption of the Renal & Dialysis Department of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital among other humanitarian interventions are exemplary and resonate your selflessness and dedication to humanity’.

A plaque accompanying the citation also commended Mr. Kutortse for his outstanding and exceptional commitment to building a better world through his help for humanity which is highly recognised and appreciated.

These sentiments align with Mr. Kutortse’s personal philosophy, reiterating his conviction in the central role that social responsibility plays in nurturing and promoting an all-encompassing and viable socio-economic progress.

The Ghana Philanthropy Awards is an initiative to recognise exceptional contributions to social responsibility, both at the corporate and individual levels. The initiative aims to showcase and commend outstanding endeavours that go beyond the realm of business and extend into the broader spectrum of community development.
